Mule Deer, Whitetail Deer, Elk,
Bear, Turkey, and Occasional Moose
Z / L East:
Absolutely Stunning 220 deeded acres 10 miles from Lewistown, Montana. Traveling east of Lewistown 9 miles via Hwy 87 and then south 1 mile on county maintained Divide Road lies the ranch. The Ranch is located within the “Divide” is an area referred to by the locals as between the Judith and Snowy Mountains and the towns of Lewistown and Grass Range.
Extensive panoramic mountain views of six ranges. The Ranch is private and diverse with open pasture, heavy timber, numerous springs, and one pond. The property is located close to the county and State Highway. This is the first time offering since homesteaded in 1912 by the current owners Grandfather. Wildlife includes Mule and whitetail deer, elk, bear, turkey, and occasional moose.
The Z/L East encompasses 220 deeded acres, the present agricultural use has been primarily focused on cattle grazing during summer months. The 220 acres would support summer grazing for about 30 cow/calf pair.
The headwater from the North Fork of McDonald Creek start on the ranch. Located on the north and the south end are two springs. On the north is a shallow spring feed pond.
A benefit of the “Divide” area is the vast amount of wildlife. Mostly migratory but resident to the nearby Judith and Snowy Mountains ecosystem. Elk frequent the area and ranch. Elk numbers have never been higher toping 8,000 in this area. Other wildlife supported by the areas vast resources are Mule Deer, Whitetail Deer, Antelope, Upland Birds, and Black Bear. The deer and antelope are constants on the ranch. Hunting opportunities for Sharp Tail, Hungarian Partridge, Blue Grouse, and Turkey are endless. The ranch is part of the 411 Hunting District. White Tails and Mule Deer are a general tag. An elk tag is a draw in the lottery system. 300 Elk tags are given out for 2020.
The pristine views of the Lewistown valley and surrounding mountain ranges set the property apart. 220 acres gives plenty of lands to privately recreate. Overall The Z/L East has unlimited ways to enjoy Central Montana. Excellent opportunity close to the “Still Montana” community of Lewistown.
