This ranch is above the 160 deeded acres so land owners have preference for Mule Deer Tags for Area 270, a premier area in the western United States to hunt Trophy Mule Deer Bucks’. In 2013 only 45 tags were issued with landowners getting a 50% chance of receiving tags over non landowners. Fishing in the Bitterroot is exceptional for Cutthroat, Brown and Rainbow Trout. Skalkaho Creek originates in the Sapphire Mountains and flows northwest for 25 miles until it joins the Bitterroot River, Skalkaho Creek is the largest tributary to the Bitterroot River.
